Hack House Lake Tahoe is a two and a half day long "hack house" retreat hosted by us at a large cabin near Lake Tahoe, California. Fifteen-ish ambitious students, hackers, engineers, scientists, and designers will live and build together, turning ideas into reality.
Hi! We love hackathons. There's something special about bringing together ambitious people, forming teams, and creating something from nothing in a short burst of focused energy. But most hackathons have the same problem: they're crowded, chaotic, and over before the real building begins. You often spend the first half finding teammates, getting settled, and figuring out what to build. By the time everyone gets into a rhythm, it’s already time to pack up and head home.
Hack House Lake Tahoe is a small builders retreat where a group of ambitious hackers, engineers, designers, and creators come together for a focused weekend of building. No talks, no corporate sponsors, no distractions, just a great group of people, a comfortable place to work, and a few days to actually build. Whether you're starting with a brand-new idea or bringing an existing project, you'll have the time, space, and community to make real progress. Build a startup prototype, launch a side project, create an open-source tool, experiment with a new technology, or finally make progress on the idea you've been sitting on. Some of the best ideas come from a random conversation in the kitchen or a late-night brainstorm. Great things happen when talented people live, eat, and create together—even if it's just for a few days.
Hack House Lake Tahoe is a weekend hackathon retreat hosted by us at a large cabin near Lake Tahoe, California. fifteen-ish ambitious students, hackers, programers, engineers, and designers will live and build together, turning ideas into reality: startups, side hustles, and open-source software. This is a paid retreat (renting houses cost money!), and includes housing, food, transportation to/from the Bay Area. The cost per person is $500. We think the projects and friends will be well worth it.
